Moving with the moon

Beginning in January, the general meeting date will return to the third Friday of each month. Although the January and April 1999 general meetings will be very close to New Moon, most of the other third Fridays for 1999 and 2000 avoid New Moon and holiday weekends.

Our schedule for the remainder of 1998 is: October 9, November 13, and December 11.

Our ranks grow

Summertime brought TVS a cluster of new members. At the next general meeting, please extend a warm welcome to: Steve Banbury, Esper Bellinger, Jr., Dan Gehret, Chuck Miller, Jerry Morocci, the Keith Mountford Family, Kenny Oslund, the Greg and Michelle Renigar Family, Alan Rush, and Scott Taylor.

Congratulations, Mike!

If you have visited Mike Rushford's exceptional website, Eyes on the Skies (see link below), you already know how great it is. Now the praise also comes from an official source. Griffith Observatory named Eyes as a Star Award Site, and presented Mike with a certificate to that effect.
