The check is in the mail

The board is pleased and relieved to report that TVS has submitted an application for a Liability Plus commercial general liability insurance policy as a non-profit organization. The application and a check for the first year's premium and management fees, in the amount of $400, were mailed April 26.

The policy is underwritten by Fireman's Fund, and is endorsed by the National Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations, Inc. Our check was made payable to NANPO, Inc., and the insurance agency handling this transaction is R. V. Nuccio & Associates Insurance Brokers, Inc., located in Fawnskin, CA.

At the May 19 general meeting, president Dave Anderson and Alane Alchorn will discuss the per-occurrence and annual aggregate limits of this policy. TVS also purchased "additional insureds" protection for the land owners at Hidden Hills Observatory and for the Unitarian Universalist Church in Livermore.

If you have specific questions regarding the coverages in this policy, please contact Dave or Alane. See their contact information in the box on page 2.

Board weighs selections for
loaner eyepiece program

At the April 24 planning meeting, the board further discussed purchasing a full set of "loaner eyepieces" that members could borrow for a month of observing. A budget has not yet been established for this investment, as the board is more interested in providing a desirable service than in pinching pennies on this project.

At the May 19 general meeting, president Dave Anderson will again solicit suggestions from all club members. We invite all club members to comment. To send an e-mail to Dave, contact him at davidand@home.com
