Club News
and Notes

In our mutual best interest

Club liability insurance remains a high priority for the board. It appears that the amateur astronomy community will be served by a new carrier within the next 30 days. At the end of August, club president Dave Anderson submitted a request for quotation, on a $2 million aggregate coverage policy.

We expect to hear from the proposed new carrier by the September general meeting. Based on the literature provided with the request for quotation, we anticipate that the premiums will not exceed $500. If you have additional comments or concerns regarding club insurance, please contact any member of the board of directors, or any executive officer. Dave will also solicit comments and suggestions at the September general meeting.

It will help president Dave Anderson if you contact him in advance (510/661-4249, or davidand@home.com) with the approximate amount of time you would like to speak. If this is not possible, however, please bring your interesting anecdotes and shots, and Dave will integrate you into the evening on the spot.

The following tentative calendar for the Year 2000 has been submitted to the Unitarian Universalist Church board for approval. We believe that the calendar will be confirmed, but you may want to write in pencil, just in case… Newsletter submissions must be received by the editor by the deadline.
