The oddest TVS contest ever held comes your way

The good work of President Dave Anderson in repairing our ancient overhead projector was evident at the October general meeting. Presentations were crisp, clear, and even readable. This is all thanks to Dave's patient disassembly and cleaning of the projector, and his replacement of the Fresnel lens. The old lens is now available to an exceptionally clever TVS member.

This unique optical apparatus can be yours if you submit the most creative suggestion for employing the used lens in a way that benefits the club. For example, a particularly inspired member might have a creative way to use this light-shaper at public star parties, in Project ASTRO, at school science fairs. Any purpose that helps the public understand optics or astronomy, and allows the Tri-Valley Stargazers name to be used is eligible for consideration. After brief consideration, the board unanimously voted to withhold approval from any project that involved applying the lens to the rear window of a recreational vehicle.

Brave contest entrants may announce their submission at the November general meeting. Those more shy (or more wise) should send their ideas to TVS at the post office address on Page 2.
