Fall finances
At the September 19 planning meeting, treasurer Mike Anderson reported our financial standing as follows.
Checking $2,542.19
CD #1 $3,646.00 matures 11/17/00
CD #2 $2,809.79 matures 10/6/00
CD #3 $2,322.92* matures 11/27/00
*Certificate of deposit #3 will be verified at the general meeting, as this figure is almost certainly lower than the actual amount. CD #2 holds the club's dark sky site key deposits against claim by members who surrender keys. Additionally, the checking account will be reduced by the costs of printing the August, September, and October newsletters. A more comprehensive financial statement will be offered in the November Prime Focus.
Club leadership nominations now open
Perhaps the biggest news out of the September planning meeting concerns the large number of leadership vacancies to be filled for 2001. Page 5 discusses the open positions in some deatil, and requests you consider serving as a volunteer officer, or that you nominate another member who is willing and able to help with the club.
