Do you really need a hard-copy version of Prime Focus?

At the June planning meeting, the board discussed the solicitation you see reprinted above. Even when this notice was printed on a full page in the newsletter, it did not yield a single response from club members. That prompted a rather lengthy discussion on the costs and benefits of producing a hard-copy newsletter each month. Without the help of a publication sponsor, TVS will spend approximately $12 per membership per year to produce and mail Prime Focus. The board is reluctant to raise the dues in 2001, or to eliminate the mailed newsletter; however, as this newsletter is going to press, no sponsor has stepped forward. To assist the board in its forward planning, we ask all members with e-mail capability to respond to the question, "Do you really need a hard-copy version of Prime Focus?" Members may also mail their opinions.

If the answer is yes, would you be willing to pay an additional $12 per year to receive the newsletter by mail? Would you prefer a $6 dues increase, and a bi-monthly mailed newsletter instead?

To sound off on this issue, please send an e-mail of any length to
tvs@hooked.net.

Feel free to suggest alternatives that the board may be overlooking. If you have not already done so, please check your own company policies regarding assistance to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporations such as TVS.
Thank you for your prompt response.
