Looking at the ledger

   After paying the early November bills, we have:
  Checking   $2,481.12
  CD #1        $3,521.35 matures 2/17/00
  CD #2        $2,718.26 matures 1/6/00
  CD #3        $2,152.01 matured 11/27/99

   CD #3 rolled over on its maturity date, but the new figure was unavailable as of the newsletter deadline. The checkbook balance fluctuates daily this time of year as renewals arrive.

officers gave TVS diligent and competent service last year, and we very much appreciate their willingness to continue serving the club.

   Joining the board in January 2000 will be Jon Clark, Debbie Dyke, Gert Gottschalk, and Mike Rushford. Jon is new to planning meetings, while Debbie, Gert and Mike have been attending
as advisors-at-large for quite some time. Debbie has also accepted the role of hospitality chair. She will, however, need help from all of us to prepare and clean up the comestibles at each general meeting.

   Brand new member Steve Anderson has graciously offered to copy and collate the handouts for general meetings. We thank him for taking this load off Dave. Mike Spreitzer will contribute his time and assistance in printing
Prime Focus each month at Xerox Corporation. The entire club thanks Mike and Xerox for this tremendous donation of goods and effort on our behalf. 

   Signe and Jim McIntire have agreed to continue their excellent work in distributing the newsletter every month. Please watch for a January

The time has come...


   ...to pay your annual membership dues. The club membership/renewal application on page 10 has been revised, and the magazine subscription opportunities are once again time-limited. As explained last month, 
Sky & Telescope and Astronomy subscriptions will be available only during the period November 1 through the February general meeting of the following year.
