Vote early and often

See page 8 for a preview of our annual club-wide elections. Voting will occur at the November general meeting, following Ken Croswell's featured presentation. Nominations from the floor will be accepted for each club office and appointed position.

About those Y2K dues…

The early birds among you will be delighted to know that renewals for 2000 are now officially open. The club membership/renewal application on page 10 has been revised, and the magazine subscription opportunities are once again time-limited. Treasurer Mike Anderson experimented with year-round subscriptions, but this has proved quite problematical for both
Sky & Telescope and Astronomy. Future subscription opportunities will be available only during the period November 1 through the February general meeting of the following year.  Sorry we could not find a way for this to work for the publishers.

And now, a shameless enticement!

The board will do almost anything to encourage membership at the general meetings, and now shamelessly tempts your attendance by offering door prizes that you will really enjoy. At the November, December, and January general meetings, two lucky astronomers will go home with personal copies of the
2000 Astronomical Pocket Diary.
