Dave Anderson earns multiple Awards Program honors

Club president Dave Anderson finally claimed a little bit (a lot!) of quality observing time for himself. Dave's carefully detailed observing logs reveal more than 650 separate objects catalogued in pursuit of TVS awards.  His observations were corroborated by vice president Chris Cody. At the July general meeting, Chris presented Dave with award certificates in the following
four categories: Messier Objects (all 110), Binocular Messier Objects (separate observations distinct from his telescopic work), the Caldwell 80, and the Herschel 400.

Congratulations, Dave! No wonder your expertise is so highly valued by Project ASTRO and by many star party visitors. At the barbecue, perhaps we can coax you into sharing a few of your best tips and tricks.

At the beginning of the July 19 planning meeting, treasurer Mike Anderson offered the following report to the board.
