"Dear Mr. Dave,"

Continued from Page 1

...after you asked us some questions I started thinking, and when I started thinking I started getting questions, so I asked the questions and got answers.  And all of a sudden I started to care about what's up there. (Michael Cochran)

Seeing the stars on that night was so cool! It was better than a normal day at class, it was way better! I got involved and I got to actually interact with a telescope to see the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter. Too bad we don't do this more often. (Pourjan Shams).

On Friday, our class will have an astronomy test based on what you taught us. This will put your teachings to the test...Your lessons have really taught me new things. I may want to be an astronomer when I grow up. (Michael Lin)

Everything was fascinating, and was not taught in the old, boring book style. I had a lot of fun, and again

thank you for all your precious time and effort. (Jayodita Sanghvi)

I always thought that astronomy was a separate subject from everyday life, but now I know that it affects every day of my life. Gravity, waves, seasons. It all involves astronomy. (Lisa Huang)

Because of you I have learned more than I can handle. Before you came to teach us, I did not have a clue about astronomy, except the basic things that I learned during elementary school.  (Danielle Mill)

To tell the truth, I had no idea really why the Moon had phases. I had always held on to the idea that they were caused by the Earth's shadow, some misinformation I had received early on. Of course now, thanks to you, I understand the real reason and feel rather silly for not having any knowledge of this simple fact until the present day. (Stephanie Lei)

Surprisingly, we also get a "Noble" Prize if you discover something. Therefore, you should also come next year and teach the seventh or eighth grade next year. (Sharran Deora)
